Given -

A 105 cm long line segment is divided into three parts in the ratio 5 : 7: 9

To find -

The length of each part.

Solution -

Let,

The three parts be 5x, 7x and 9x

According to the question -

$5x + 7x + 9x = 105$

$21x = 105$

$x = \frac{105}{21}$

$x = 5$

Now,

5x = 5×5= 25 cm

7x = 7×5= 35cm

9x = 9×5 = 45cm

Therefore the length of each parts are 25cm, 35cm and 45cm.

Verification -

5x+7x+9x=105

Putting the values we will get -

25+35+45=105

105=105

L.H.S =R.H.S
