Let the number be 'x'

Given , 1/4 th of the number added to 1/3rd of the number gives 15+ 1/2 of the number ..

so we get...

1/4 x. + 1/3 x = 15 + 1/2 x

we get ..

3x+4x / 12 = 30 + x /2

we get ..

7x / 6 = 30 + x
by cross multiplying we get ..

7x = 180 + 6x

we get ,

x = 180 ..

therefore the number is 180


13 ) Let the money the man had be 'y'

It's given the man donates 1/10 th

so he has 9/10 of his money left...

now he gives 1/6 th. of the 9/10 to a church

so he has
