Given :  Numbers from 1 to 40

To Find : probability of getting the first 40 natural numbers, that either divisible by 2,3,4,5, or 6.

Solution:

Numbers from 1 to 40

Total Numbers = 40

Divisible by 2 = all even numbers   = 20 numbers

Divisible by  3 = 3 , 9 , 15 , 21 , 27 , 33 , 39    (  7 numbers )  did not mention even numbers as those are already counted

Divisible by 4 are already counted in divisible by 2

Divisible by 6 are already counted which are divisible by 2 and 3 both

Divisible by 5     = 5 , 10  , 15 , 20 , 25 , 30  , 35 , 40

even number and 15 are already counted

Hence remained   5 , 25 , 35    Hence  3 numbers

so Total number from 1 to 40 divisible by  2,3,4,5, or 6.

= 20 +7 + 3

= 30

probability of getting the first 40 natural numbers, that either divisible by 2,3,4,5, or 6.  = 30/40

= 3/4
