Answer:

1) Public history is the use of historical skills and methods outside of the traditional academic realm of history. Public historians use their training to meet the needs of the community-the public-whether that community is defined as a city, a neighborhood, a business, or a historical society. It is the audience that differentiates the public historian’s work. The public historian’s audience might be a client, a government agency, or a tourist. Different audiences often require the public historian to employ unconventional skills, answer difficult questions, and respond to unique situations.

2) The United Nations Educational Scientific And Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) is a global organisation which has specified some directives for the educational, cultural and scientific promotion of the heritage sites globally. On the basis of this directives, many sites and traditions are choosen as world heritage sites and natural heritage. They have listed some sites in India as world heritage sites which are -- Elephanta caves in Maharashtra, Hampi in Karnataka, Humayun's Tomb in Delhi, Qutb Minar and its monuments, Delhi and many more.

3) The world cultural heritage sites located in Maharashtra are as follows:-

(i) Ajanta Caves

(ii) Ellora Caves

(iii) Elephanta Caves

(iv) Chatrapathi Shivaji Terminus formerly Victoria Terminus

(v) Western Ghats
