Answer:

1)Tides are influenced more by the moon than the sun because the moon is very near to earth as compared to the sun. Hence, it exerts more gravitational pull on earth as compared to the sun inspite of having very less gravitational force.

2)Thus, repeated flooding and absence of vegetation is the major geographic reason behind low lying coasts turning into lagoons and marshy lands.

3)Due to the centrifugal force place located on the opposite meridian to the place experiencing high or low tide will also experience high or low tide respectively.

Answer:

  • Although the sun is 27 million times more massive than the moon, it is 390 times further away from the Earth than the moon. Therefore, the sun's tide-generating force is about half that of the moon, and the moon is the dominant force affecting the Earth's tides

  • Repeated flooding and absence of vegetation is the major geographic reason behind low lying coasts turning into lagoons and marshy lands.

  • Due to the centrifugal force place located on the opposite meridian to the place experiencing high or low tide will also experience high or low tide respectively.
