\mathfrak{\green{range\:is\:32}}

given=> 14, 12, 17, 16, 18, x

range= largest no - smallest no..

largest = 18,,

smallest = 12...

x = 6...

such that..

18 + x = 20
x = 2❗❗❗❗..

x - 12 = 20

32 - 12 = 20...

so x = 32,, is the no , for the 20 to be the range..

Hello Friend

In the given numbers

Highest Number is 18

Lowest Number is 12

As we know the formula

Range = Highest observation - Lowest observation

= 18 - 12

= 6

Range is given to be 20.

Now,

If 12 is the the lowest Number,

So,

Highest Number = x

Now,

x - 12 = 20

x = 20 + 12

x = 32

Now,

If we take x as the lowest Number

So,

18 - x = 20

- x = 20 - 18

- x = 2

x = -2

It is not possible, So x is 32 which is the maximum number.

Check:

Range = Highest observation - Lowest observation

= 32 - 12

= 20

Therefore, The answer is Option D) 32.

Hope it helps you.
