Q) Reference to the context (RTC)

Said the Kangaroo to the Duck.

"This requires some little reflection;

Perhaps on the whole it might bring me luck,

And there seems but one objection,

Which is, if you'll let me speak so bold,

Your feet are unpleasantly wet and cold,

And would probably give me the roo-

Matiz!" said the Kangaroo.

I) What means some 'reflection'?

II) What was the objection in this process?

III) What was the fear of the Kangaroo?

IV) Why the word rheumatism changed to roo - Matiz?

Plzzz it's urgent ..........................................

Answer:

Explanation:

  • I) Reflection in the given excerpt means an ample amount of consideration. The kangaroo will have to seriously contemplate on the propostion of carrying the duck on his back.
  • II)  The main issue of objection of the kangaroo in carrying the duck was the duck’s feet were extremely wet and cold.
  • III)  The kangaroo was a fearful creature as portrayed in the poem. It feared that if the water duck with its cold wet feet climbed on its back it would contract rheumatism.
  • IV)  The poem is a nonsensical limerick. It uses words of little significance. Slangs are a perfect choice for limericks. Since roomatiz is the slang for rheumatism the poet has used the word roo-Matiz to fit it perfectly in the limerick.
