Answer:

\huge\mathbb\red{ k = 10}

Step-by-step explanation:

TO HAVE EQUAL ROOTS:-

b² - 4ac = 0

Given:

\bf\huge\red{5x² -2kx + 20 = 0}

Solution

\sf\bf {b}^{2}   - 4ac = 0 \\  \\ \sf\bf { (- 2k)}^{2}  - 4(5)(20) = 0 \\  \\ \sf\bf 4 {k}^{2}  - 400 = 0 \\  \\ \bf 4 {k}^{2}  = 400 \\  \\ \bf  {k}^{2}  =  \frac{400}{4}  \\  \\ \bf {k}^{2}  = 100 \\  \\ \bf k =  \sqrt{100}  \\  \\ \bf\huge \fbox\purple{k = 10 \: answer}

ANSWER

5x^-2kx+20=0

5x^+20=2kx

5x^+20/2=kx

5x^+10=kx

5x^+10/x=0

5x+10=0

5x=10

x=10/5

x=2

x=2 value put in to 5x^-2kx+20=0

5×2^-2k×2+20=0

5×4-4k+20=0

20-4k+20=0

(-4k)=(-20)-20

(-4k)=(-40)

(-k)=(-10)

k=10

Explanation

Meaning of ^ is square
