Q. The area of trapezium is 91cm² and its height is 7cm. If one of the parallel sides is longer than the other by 8cm, find the two parallel sides.​

Answer:

let one parallel side be x. then the other parallel side is longer than the other (x+8)

Area of trapezium =1/2 ×sum of parallel sides ×height

91cm²=1/2×(x+x+8)×7

91cm²=1/2×(2x+8)×7

2×91/7cm²=2x+8

182cm²/7=2x+8

26=2x+8

26_8=2x

18=2x

:.x=9

Hence,one parallel side =x=9cm

and other =x+8=9+8=17cm
