The atomic mass of a metal (M) is 27 and its equivalent
mass is 9, the formula of its chloride will be:

Atomic weight = Equivalent weight x valency

Given :

Atomic weight = 27

Equivalent weight = 9

Valency = 27/9 = 3

Valency of M is 3 . By cross over the formula will be MCl3.
