Father  = x

Son = y

x  = 3 + 3y

3 + x = 10 + 2y + 3

3 + 3 + 3y = 10 + 2(y + 3)

y = 10 - 6 + 6 = 10

Father's present age = 3 + 30 = 33

let the age of father be ' y ' and age of his son be ' x '

______________________________
Define present age :
______________________________

present age of son = x

present age of father y = 3 x + 3

______________________________
Define their age of 3 yr hence : + 3
______________________________

age of son = x + 3

age of father = 3x + 3 + 3 = 3x + 6

according to question ,
_______________________________

after 3 years , father's age will be 10 yrs more than twice the age of son .

3 x + 6 = 2 ( x + 3 ) + 10

3 x + 6 = 2 x + 6 + 10

3 x - 2 x = 16 - 6

x = 10 yr

present age of son = 10 yr

then , present age of father

3 x + 3 = 3 (10 ) + 3 = 33 yr

therefore,

present age of father = 33 yr
