· Ratio between speeds of 2 trains is 5:3. if the first train runs 350 km in 2 hours then what is the speed of the second train? a)100 kmph b)115 kmph c)105 kmph d)210 kmph answer:c explanation: (speed of train 1 / speed of train 2 ) = 5/3 (175 / s2 ) = 5/3 gives u105kmph.

Let the speed of 1st train be 5x
Then, speed of 2nd train = 3x

Now, for 1st train
Distance covered (s) = 350 km
Time taken (t) = 2 hrs
Therefore, speed (v)

 = \frac{s}{t}

 = \frac{350}{2}

 = 175

Hence, speed of first train is 175 km/h
But, speed of 1st train = 5x
A/q,
5x = 175

 = > x = \frac{175}{5}

 = > x = 35

Hence, speed of 1st train = 5x = 5 × 35 = 175 km/h
And, speed of 2nd train = 3x = 3 × 35 = 105 km/h

That's your answer.

Hope it'll help. :-)
