Answer:

Let the two numbers be 3x and 4x

(3x+6):(4x+6)=4:5, or

5(3x+6) = 4(4x+6)

15x+30 = 16x+24

or 16x-15x = 30–24, or

x = 6 ANSWER.

Answer :-

Let the numbers be 3x and 4x.

Each number is increased by 6 :-

New numbers = 3x + 6 and 4x + 6

According to the question:-

\implies\sf 3x + 6 : 4x + 6 = 4 : 5

\implies\sf \dfrac{3x+6}{4x+6} = \dfrac{4}{5}

\implies\sf 5 ( 3x + 6 ) = 4 ( 4x + 6 )

\implies\sf 15x + 30 = 16x + 24

\implies\sf 16x - 15x = 30 - 24

\implies\sf x = 6

Numbers are -

  • 3x = 3 × 6 = 18
  • 4x = 4 × 6 = 24

We are asked to find difference between the numbers :-

Difference = 24 - 18 = 6

Difference between the numbers = 6
