Given :-

The ratio of present ages of Pramod and Deepak is 3:4.

After 8 years it will be 5 : 6.

To Find :-

What is the present age of Pramod.

Solution :-

Let,

⇢ Present age of Pramad be 3x years

⇢ Present age of Deepak be 4x years

→After 8 years ago :

↦ Age of Pramod be 3x + 8

↦ Age of Deepak be 4x + 8

\implies \sf \dfrac{3x + 8}{4x + 8} =\: \dfrac{5}{6}

By doing cross multiplication we get,

\implies \sf 5(4x + 8) =\: 6(3x + 8)

</p><p>\implies \sf 20x + 40 =\: 18x + 48

\implies \sf 20x - 18x =\: 48 - 40

\implies \sf 2x =\: 8

\implies \sf x =\: \dfrac{\cancel{8}}{\cancel{2}}

\implies \sf\bold{\green{x =\: 4\: years}}

Hence, the required ages are :

⟼ Present age of Pramod :

⇝3xyears

⇝3(4)years

⇝12years

And,

⟼ Present age of Deepak :

⇝4xyears

⇝4(4)years

⇝16years

∴ The present age of Pramod is 12 years.
