Q. The sum of the two numbers is 5000. If 20% of one is equals to 30% of the other number. Find the number.

x + y = 5000. (1)
20x/100 = 30y/100
x/5 = 3y/10
10x = 15y
10x - 15y = 0. (2)
(x + y = 5000)2
subtracting the equation,
10x (-10x)+ 10y+ 15y = 50000 - 0
25y = 50000
y = 2000
putting the value of y in (1)
x + 2000 = 5000
x = 3000
