1) The third battle of panipat took place on 14th january 1761 , at panipat , about 60 miles ( 97km ) North of dehli , between a Northern expeditionary force of the maratha Empire led by Sadashivrao Bhau of pune and the forces of the king of afghanistan ( Durrani Empire ). Ahmad shah abdali , supported by two muslim allies the Rohilla afghans of the Doab and Shuja-ud- daula , Nawab of awadh.
Ahmad shah won the battle but with a very heavy casualty rate on both sides, the battle is considered one of the largest battles fought in the 18th century.
2) Indian National congress was founded on 28th december , 1885 by allan Octavian Hume ( A.O.Hume ) , a retired British officer. The indian national Congress (INC) was considered to be the largest and most prominent Indian public organisation and central and defining influence of the Indian Independence movement.
