Q). Two identical parallel plate capacitor C1 and C2 have capacitance C each . The space between their plates is now filled with dielectric as shown. If the two capacitors still have equal capacitance ,obtain the ratio between dielectric constant K , K1 and K2.

Let Area of each plate = A

Capacitance,

C=ε0A / (d−t)+t/K

C1=ε0A / (d−t)+t/K1

C2=ε0A /(d−t)K1

 it is not given that inhow much spce the dielectric is filled.

ε0A /(d−t)+t/K1=ε0A / (d−t)+t / K2

(d−t) + t / K2= (d−t) + t / K2

⇒K1=K2
