Q Two parallel sides of a Trapezium are in the ratio 7:11 and the distance between them is 17 cm. If the
area of the trapezium is 306 cm”, find the length of its parallel sides?

Answer:

Let The parallel sides of trapezium Be 7 X and 11 x

Area of trapezium= 306cm²

1/2 ( b¹+b²) h = 306cm²

1/2(7x+ 11x ) ×17 =306cm²

18x = 306 × 2/17 ( as we transpose 1 by 2 and 17 to this side)

18x = 18×2

18x ÷ 18 = 2

x = 2

so the first parallel side is 14 and second parallel side is 22 CM
