Answer :-
===>>>Leaf :- Leaf is a lateral, generally flattened structure bone on the stem at the node and bears bud in its axil ( axillary bud ) which later developed into a beach or a flower or inflorescence.
leave originate from shoot apical Meristems and are arranged in a acropetal order. Leaves are the most important vegetative organ for photosynthesis, respiration and transpiration.
===>>>>Types of leaf :- On the basis of origin and function, leaves are classified as follows.
1. Cotyledons:- Embryonic seed leaves, usually contain reserve food hence fleshy.
Example :- pea, beans and gram but the cotyledons are thin and flat in ricinus.
2. Hypsophylis :- Also called bract leaves, contain flower or inflorescence in their axil and protect the flower buds, usually Small and green but large and bright coloured.
3. Cataphylis :- Small, sessile dry brown chlorophyll less scale leaves in onion.
4. Sporopjylls:- Part of a flower like sepals, petals, androcium and gynoecium are all modified or rudimentary.
5. Foliage leaves:- Normal leaves attached on aerial stem and branches, usually flat and green take part in photosynthesis, respiration and transpiration.
===>>>>Parts of a typical leaf :- Typical leaf consist of 3 main parts leaf petiole and lamina.
<> Leaf base :- leaf base is attached to the stem by the leaf base and my bear 2 lateral small leaf leteral appendages called stipules.
<> Petiole :- Petiole helps hold lamina or leaf blade to light and long thin and flexible petioles allow leaf blade to flutter in wind thereby cooling the leaf and bringing fresh air to leaf surface.
<> Lamina :- Lamina or leaf blade is the green expanded part of leaf with veins and veinlats middle prominent vein is known as rachis or midrib.
