body is said to be in the state of rest if it changes it's position with respect to its surroundings...... A body is said to be in the state of motion if it doesnot change it's position with respect to its surroundings....

A body is said to be in a state of motion when it is moving or equivalently its position continuously changes with respect to time.

A body is said to be at rest when its position doesn't change with time.

A body is said to be at rest when its acceleration doesn't change with time.

when a body does not change its position with respect to its immediate surroundings with passage of time it is said to be at rest

whereas when a body changes its position with respect to its immediate surroundings with passage of time it is said to be in motion
