"When a bicycle is moving, the pedals exert force on the ground. While wheels in the bicycle are simple means to move a bicycle.

The bicycles follow first and second law of motion. According to second law, the bicycle moves and according to first law, the bicycle changes its state of inertia.

When the cyclist applies force on the pedal through legs, the force applied by the cyclist is overcomed by the friction between the ground and wheel, and when the force is applied continuous, a cycle starts to move through wheel with friction between wheel and ground.

When the cyclist needs to stop the cycle, he/she need to apply brake where the inertial state of the cycle is changed."
