Answer:

James Prescott Joule FRS FRSE was an English physicist, mathematician and brewer, born in Salford, Lancashire. Joule studied the nature of heat, and discovered its relationship to mechanical work. This led to the law of conservation of energy, which in turn led to the development of the first law of thermodynamics.

Answer:

James Prescott Joule was an outstandingBritish physicist. He is best known for his research in electricity and thermodynamics. Amongst other things, he formulated a law James Prescott Joule for the heating (1818-1889) effect of electric current. He also verified experimentally the law of conservation of energy and discovered the value of the mechanical equivalent of heat. The unit of energy and work called joule, is named after him.
