Q).Why are gases compressible but not liquids ??

hola mate.....


the intermolecular distance between gases is very big as compared to liquids

in liquids the molecules are not at a far distance but gas atom are very far to each other

so when we apply force the gas atoms come near each other but liquids does not

Ans. Gases are compressible because the intermolecular space is very large in gases, whereas liquids are not compressible because in liquids the intermolecular space is less.
