onic compound have high melting as well as high boiling point temperature because,

The bond is formed between a metal and a non metal i.e., two oppositely charge elements( cations and anions)

Thus, this would increase the force of attraction between them which holds them tightly, hence these forces cannot be destroyed easily. (Ex. NaCl, MgCl, etc..)

Thus ionic compounds have high melting and boiling point temperature.(high temp. Is required to break their force of attraction) ..

Hope u understood my point..

Thanku

1 (ans). This is because a considerable amount of energy is required to break the attraction.
2(ans).Minerals from which metal can be extracted profitably and easily are called ores.
3(ans).The sulphide ores converted into oxide by heating is called roasting.
4(ans).The carbonate ores converted into oxide by heating is called calcination.
5(ans).it is a method of protecting metal by coating them with thin layer of zinc.
