Hyyyyyy
Here is the answer buddy
A reducing agent will reduce, and there by get further oxidised in a redox reaction. I'd SO3 acts as reducing agent, then sulphur in so3 should achieve an oxidation state heigher than what it has in SO3 (+6). This means that 6 electrons have already been stripped from the valence shell from sulphur
COMBINATION REACTION
A combination reaction (also known as a synthesis reaction) is a reaction where two or more elements or compounds (reactants) combine to form a single product
DECOMPOSITION REACTION
Reaction in which a single element decomposes to form simpler elements .

Q.1 => Define :
__________
◾Combination Reaction : A reaction in which two or more elements combine to form a single product is termed as a Combination reaction . In general , it can be represented as
A + B ----------> C
★For Example :
» 2H2 + O2 ------------> 2H2O
=> In this reaction , hydrogen and oxygen combine together to form a single product i,e water . Hence it's a Combination reaction .
◾Decomposition Reaction : A reaction in which a single substance breaks down into its constituents on application of Heat / electricity / light is termed as Decomposition reaction . In general it can be represented as :
A ------------> B + C
★For Example :
»CaCO3 -------------> CaO + CO2
=> In this reaction , calcium carbonate breaks down into Calcium Oxide and Carbon dioxide on heating . Hence it's a decomposition reaction .

Q.2 Why SO2 acts as an oxidizing agent as well as a reducing agent but SO3 acts as only oxidizing agent . Why ?
=> This is because in SO2 , Sulphur has vacant d orbital but this is not so in SO3 . Hence it acts only as an oxidizer .
⭐In SO2 sulphur shows an oxidation state of +4 whereas in SO3 , it is already highest i,e +6
If SO3 acted as a reducing agent , it would achieve an oxidation higher than what is already has in SO3 . This is not possible . Thus, it can act only as an oxidizing agent.
