Q. Write a telephone conversation between yourself and your colleague who has invited you to a party. Express the following :, 1. Receive the invitation., 2. Politely express your inability to attend the party giving a suitable reason like you might be out of town on the said date., 3. Wish your friend a great party and convey your regrets.

I: Hey Vishal thanks for the invitation to the party.

Colleague: My pleasure! Kindly do come with your family. My wife and children would love to see you all.

I: Thanks once again. However, I am so sorry we won’t be able to attend the happy occasion. Actually my sister is going to be engaged on the same day. So we will be busy in the ring ceremony function.

Colleague: Congratulations! It is a very important function. You can drop in some other day.

I: Oh sure! We would have loved to share your celebrations. However, do give my best wishes to your son.I hope the gift delivered through courier have brought a big smile on your his innocent face!.

Colleague: Thanks dear. He was really ecstatic about it! Congratulations once again to you for your sister’s engagement.

I received an invitation from Shwetha (colleague) to attend a party on Saturday, 16th March, 2017. 
The telephonic conversation with her, is as follows

Me (Mounikadali): Hello
Shwetha: Hi Mouni, how are you?
Me: I'm fine Shwetha, how are you?
Shwetha: Well I'm doing good. Just busy, I need to get a lot of things done, before the party this Satuday. I mailed you your invitation, did you receive it?
Me: Yes I did. I received it. Thank you very much for the invitation. 
Shwetha: That's great. 
Me: But, I'm sorry I won't be able to make it.
Shwetha: Oh! Why not?
Me: It's my grand-parents 60th wedding anniversary and the entire family, along with my uncle's, my aunt's and my cousins are planning on a weekend getaway to Coorg, from 15th to 17th March. And so I will not be here on Saturday the 16th. 
Shwetha: Oh Mouni ! We will miss you, but family always comes first. And I understand that. Have a good weekend. 
Me: Thanks Shwetha. I'm really going to miss the party. 
Hope you all have a good time. And I really appreciate you thinking about me and inviting me to the party.
