Step-by-step explanation:

2x-y-5=0

(a)=2×2-(-1)=5

=4+1=5

=5-5

=0

(b)2x-y-5=0

=2×2-(1)=5

=4-1=5

=3= 5

=5-3

= 2

(c)2x-y-5 =0

2×1-(-1)=5

2+1=5

3=5

=5-3

=2

(d)2x-y-5=0

2×(-2)-1=5

-4-1=5

-5 =5

=5+5

=10

Given:

                             2x-y-5=0

To Find:

           The solutions of the above equation.

Solution:

We are provided with the options. So, we just have to check the condition that the Right Hand Side(RHS) is equal to the Left Hand Side(LHS).

In the option (a),

                            x = 2 and y = -1

So the LHS will be,

                           = 2(2)-(-1)-5

                           =4+1-5

                           =0

Since LHS becomes equal to RHS i.e., zero.

Hence, (a) is the correct option.
