Given : a quadratic equation

To Find : number of possible solutions of a quadratic equation

(a) exactly two (b) at most two (c) at least two (d) None of these

Solution

number of possible solutions of a quadratic equation  are   at most two

for examples

x² - 1 = 0

=> x = ± 1

x² + 1   = 0

has no real solution

number of possible solutions of a quadratic equation are   at most two

if we consider imaginary numbers also part of solution

then  a quadratic equation  has exactly two number of possible solutions
