given case one of men building a wall, find the days taken to build the same wall under different conditions.

Explanation:

  1. Let the amount of work be done to build the wall be denoted by 'A' , number of men working be 'n' and let efficiency of each man be 'x'.
  2. Let the days it takes to to complete this work be 'd' and the working hours per days be 'h'  then we have, A= efficiency.time = nx(hd)
  3. now from case one we have n=12,\ h=10,\ d=15                                              hence, A=10(12)(15)x= 1800x       ---(i)
  4. now from new case we have n=18,\ h=8,\ d=?                                                    hence, A=18(8)(d)x=144(d)x   ---(ii)
  5. equating (i) and (ii) we get , 1800x=144x(d)

                                                        d=12.5\ days
