Answer:

A(area of path)= 1064-600=464 sq. m

cost= 464 x 20 = 9280 Rs.

Step-by-step explanation:

as per the given question, there isa park which is 38 m long and 28 m wide.

and around the park there is a 4m wide path.

we need to find out the area of the path.

so we will first find of the area of the park including the path

so, as per the giiven data ,

let l denoted the length of park

L=38m

and B denotes the breadth

B= 28m

so area of park including the path is 38 x 28= 1064 sq. m

now we will deduct the width of path from the length and breadth

L'= 38-4-4=30m

B'= 28-4-4=20m

so, now the new area of the park is L'xB'

Area of park without the path = 20 x 30=600 sq.m

so the area of path will the the difference between the area including path and the area excluding the path.

A(area of path)= 1064-600=464 sq. m

so now we have to find the cost of construction of path,

that is Rs. 20 per sq. m

so the cost is Area multiplied by cost per metre square.

cost= 464 x 20 = 9280 Rs.
