Explanation:

Area of the room (Ar) = length × width

Ar = 12m × 15m = 180 m²

But 1 m² = 10000 cm²

180 m² = 1800000 cm²

Area of the square tile (As) = (length)² = l²

As = 20 cm × 20 cm = 400 cm²

Number of square tiles needed (n) = Ar/As

n = 1800000/400 = 4500

Thus,

4,500 square tiles will be needed to build the floor of a 12m x 15m room
