no1) Given:

Length =500m

Breadth =200m

Required cost =Rs.8

Also given, to find out the cost of tiling a rectangular plot

As we know that,

area of a rectangle =l×b sq. units

=500×200mt

2

∴ area of a reactangle =100000sq.mt.

to find the cost of rectangular tiling given required cost =Rs.8

∴ cost of a tiling rectangular plot = area of rectangular × required cost

=100000×8=800000

∴ the cost of tiling a rectangular plot =Rs.800000

no3)Given each side of the tile =10 cm

one tile = (10×10)=100 cm 2 And also given the length of kitchen =220 cm. Breadth of kitchen =180 cm Area of the kitchen floor =(l×b) =(220×180)cm 2 =39,600 cm 2 Total no. of tiles needed = 10039,600 = 396 tiles
