Q1. A train can travel 50% faster than a car. Both start from point A at the same and reach point B 75kms away from A at the same time.On the way however the train lost about 12.5minutes while stopping at the stations. The speed of the car is?
Q2. Ashish and Bali run towards each other from P and Q respectively with respective speeds of 36kmph and 45kmph. After meeting each other if Ashish reaches Q in 5 hours ,in how many hours will Bali reach P?(please tell all the steps)

Let the speed of car be x kmph.

Therefore, the speed of train = 1.5x kmph


Distance traveled by train and car is same. Time difference is 12.5 minutes.


(75/x) - (75/1.5x) = (125/10x60)


x = 120

Hey mate!

Here's your answer!!

1) Let speed of the car be x kmph.

Then, speed of train = 150/100x = 3/2x km/h

75/x - 75/ (3/2)x = 125/10 × 60

75/x - 50/x = 5/24

Therefore, x = 25 × 24/ 5 = 120 kmph.
