a)

The foam type fire extinguisher is also called the CO2 Type fire extinguisher . It is only used incase of an electrical fire .By displacing the oxygen in the air, they help to suffocate the fire and prevent it from spreading, while leaving no residue, making them harmless to electrical equipment.

b) When paper cup is heated containing water, water absorbs the heat coming from the burning source and thus prevents the paper from reaching its ignition point. Hence it does not burn. Water in the cup becomes hot instead. This is due to absorption of heat by water.
