Answer:

option D

R is the heaviest.

Step-by-step explanation:

According to the given conditions :-

  • R is twice as heavy as T

R = 2  \: T

  • S is one and half times as heavy as Q

S = 1 \frac{1}{2}  \:  Q

  • Q and R together weigh as much as S and T together

Q + R = S + T

  • P and S together are one and half time as heavy as Q and T together

P  + S = 1 \frac{1}{2} (Q + T)

Solution :-

Putting S = 3/2 Q and R = 2 T in 3rd condition , we get

Q + R = S + T

=> Q + 2T = 3/2 Q + T

=> Q + 3/2 Q = T - 2T

=> 5/2 Q = - T

=> Q = - 2/5 T = - 0.4 T

therefore , Q > T

Now ,

S = 3/2 × - 2/5 T = - 3/5 T = - 0.6 T

and

P = 3/2 ( Q + T ) - S

=> P = 3/2 ( - 2/5T + T ) -(- 3/5 T)

=> P = 3/2 ( -2+5/5 T ) + 3/5 T

=> P = 3/2 × 3/5 T + 3/5 T

=> P = 9/10 T + 3/5 T

=> P = 9+6/10 T

=> P = 15/20 T = 3/2 T = 1.5 T

  • R = 2 T
  • Q = -0.4T
  • S = -0.6 T
  • P = 1.5 T
  • T = 1 T

R > P > T > Q > S

According to these values

R is the heaviest & S is the lightest.
