Q1.Anita’s father had constructed a new room in their house. An electrician was called in to do the electric wiring. The electrician was asked to do wiring for two fans, two bulbs, a light socket and a power socket. Anita studies in tenth standard. Just when the electrician had completed the wiring, Anita returned home from school. Anita wanted to check the wiring by using all the switches and sockets. Anita found that the two fans and two sockets worked properly, each having a separate switch but there was a problem in the working of bulbs. Both the bulbs could be switched on and switched off with the same switch. Anita explained the mistake in wiring to electrician and then two separate switches were provided for the two bulbs. Series circuit :

  1. In series circuit ,if one electrical appliance stop working due to some effect, then all other appliances also stop working.
  2. In series circuit all the electrical appliances have only one switch due to which they cannot be turn on or off separately.
  3. In the series connection of electrical appliances , the overall resistance of the circuit increases too much due to the which the current of the power supplies is to low
  4. In series circuit , the applicances do not get the same voltage as a power supply line.
