Ingestion: This is the process of intake of food by the organism.
Digestion: In this process, the intake food is sent to different digesting organs where the food particles are broken into smaller pieces.

Assimilation: The energy now stored in the form of ADPs and ATPs is sent to various parts of the body wherever the energy is needed.
