A)The Rock Shelters of Bhimbetka were discovered by V.S. Wakankar in 1957. Archaeological findings from excavations in the 1970s and 1980s include knives, hand axes, chopper tools and floors.
B) The site consisting of 1,892 hectares was declared as protected under Indian laws and came under the management of the Archaeological Survey of India in 1990. It was declared as a world heritage site by UNESCO in 2003.
C)Gopal left his father's job of making statues as it did not earn him enough income, that is, he was not able to make enough money
D)Jahangir's birth name was Nuruddin Muhammed Salim, and he was called Prince Salim for short.
E)The maçon, or mason, was a person who worked in stone or brick construction. Also known as a brick mason, stone mason or bricklayer, the mason was a craftsman who laid bricks to construct brickwork, or who laid any combination of stones, bricks, cinder blocks, or similar pieces.
F)Ruskin Bond is a writer. He is ethnically Anglo-Indian. He passionately loves the Himalayan mountains & the foothills where he has lived most of his life. One can see this abundantly in his writing.
Which writer can lose his ethos & his muse and survive? I think Ruskin will never leave India. Not only that, he will never leave his beloved Himalayan foothills!
The Anglo-Indian community has greatly enriched our public life & culture. Many of them have settled down in the west now, but I am happy we have Ruskin in our midst!
