Q1.Consider the reaction
2A+3B------> 4C + 5D
In the above reaction A and B are reactants and C and D are products. If one of each A and B are reacted then:
1)2.25 mole of B is formed
2)1.6 mole of D is formed
3)0.33 mole of A are left after complete reaction
4)1.33 mole of C is formed

The correct choice is
A)1 and 2
B) 2, 3 and 4
C)1,3 and 4
D) 1, 2 and 4

Explanation:

Given:

2A+3B------> 4C + 5D

To find:

Correct statements among the given options.

Solution:

First of all, we need to identify the limiting reagent.

So, as per reaction, 2 moles of A reacts with 3 moles of B.

But only 1 mole of A and B is given:

So, 1 mole of A will react with 3/2 × 1 = 1.5 mole of B.

Hence , B is limiting reagent. Reaction will occur w.r.t to B only.

Now, continue with stoichiometry!

3 moles of B form 4 moles of C

=> 1 mole of B forms 4/3 × 1 = 1.33 moles of C.

____________________

3 mole of B form 5 moles of D

=> 1 mole of B forms 5/3 × 1 = 1.6 moles of D.

____________________

3 moles of B reacts with 2 moles of A

=> 1 mole of B react with 2/3 = 0.67 mole of A

=> So, amount of A left = 1 - 0.67 = 0.33 moles .

So, statement 2, 3, 4 are correct.

Option D) is correct.
