*Question:

Q1 : Construct a right triangle whose base is 12cm and sum of its hypotenuse and other side is 18 cm .

*Answer:

Steps of Construction:

→ (i) Draw BC = 12 cm.

→ (ii) Construct ÐCBY = 90°.

→ (iii) From ray BY, cut-off line segment BD = 18 cm.

→ (iv) Join CD.

→ (v) Draw the perpendicular bisector of CD intersecting BD at A.

→ (vi) Join AC to obtain the required △ABC.

Justification:

Since A lies on the perpendicular bisector of CD.

Therefore,

→ AD = AC

Now,

→ BD = BA + AD

→ BD = AB + AC

Hence,

△ABC is the required triangle.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let triangle be △ABC base BC=12cm,CB=90o and AB+BC=18cm

draw base BC=12cm and at point B make a ray BX  such that ∠B=90o

Cut a line segment BD equal to AB+AC from ray BX.

Join DC draw perpendicular bisector PQ of the line DC.

Let PQ intersect BD a point A. Join AC .

hope it helps you out.
