The house of Mr. Laurence:

It is described in the chapter is a big mansion. It is described as a luxurious palace. The chapter ‘Being Neighbourly’ is taken from the novel ‘Little Women’ written by Louisa May Alcott. In this chapter, Jo visits the house of Mr. Laurence and she wanted to have a tour of the old mansion as she always wanted to explore Mr. Laurence's house, so she asks Lourie to give her house tour.

There she finds out that the mansion is huge and very luxurious, it had a magnificent old painting hanging on the wall, she went closer to examine the painting and is full of admiration for the painting and the house. Later she is invited by Mr. Laurence to have dinner with them. The house represents the aristocracy and the luxurious way of life which is completely different from Jo's background.
