An adverb is a word that modifies a verb. It's a word that adds more information about place, time, manner, cause or degree to a verb, an adjective, a phrase or another adverb.
Examples:
- She is working quietly.
In the above given sentence the word quietly ( i.e an adverb) is modifying the
verb working or we can state that it's giving some extra information about the verb working.
- He is dancing swiftly.
In the above mentioned sentence the word swiftly ( i.e an adverb) is the modifying the verb dancing or we can say that it's providing some extra information regarding the verb dancing.
