Adverb

An adverb is a word that modifies a verb. It's a word that adds more information about place, time, manner, cause or degree to a verb, an adjective, a phrase or another adverb.

Examples:

  • She is working quietly.

In the above given sentence the word quietly ( i.e an adverb) is modifying the

verb working or we can state that it's giving some extra information about the verb working.

  • He is dancing swiftly.
