Q1. Explain why solids have fixed shape but liquids and gases do not have fixed shape?

It is because the molecules present in solid have a fixed position and are tightly packed because of which they are unable to move wherein Water and Gases the molecules present are loosely packed hence they can take any shape but Solids have a fixed shape
