She spent Rs. 1000 on groceries, so x-1000.
She spent Rs. 500 on clothes, so x - (1000+500)
She spent Rs. 400 on education so, x - (1000+500+400)
She received Rs. 200 as gift. so x - (1000+500+400) + 200.

= x - 1,900 + 200
= x - 2,100.

Therefore, Savitri has Rs. x - 2100 left with her.

b. 3 - (x * 2) or 3 - 2x.
