The addition of a question tag changes a statement from affirmative to interrogative.

While doing so the following points should be kept in mind-

  • Since it is an interrogative sentence, obviously there should be an addition of the question mark (?) at the end of the statement.
  • The intended meaning must not be altered in any way.
  • Generally, either wh-word like 'who, where, whom, when,' etc or words like 'couldn't he, isn't it, can't they ', etc are added to change a statement into an interrogative sentence.
