Find the sum of additive inverse and multiplicative inverse of 1/2

\bf\red{AnsweR:-}

  • Additive inverse of 1/2 = -1/2

  • Multiplicative inverse of 1/2 = 2

  • The sum of both these numbers,

:\implies\bf{\dfrac{-1}{2}+\dfrac{2}{1}}

For finding this sum, at first we need to make the denominators same.

LCM[2, 1] = 2

:\implies\bf{\dfrac{-1}{2}=\dfrac{-1}{2}} ----------- Eq.1

Here already denominator is 2 so no need of any step.

:\implies\bf{\dfrac{2}{1}=\dfrac{2\times2}{1\times2}}

:\implies\bf{\dfrac{4}{2}} -------------- Eq.2

The sum of Eq.1 and Eq.2,

\pink{:\implies\bf\dfrac{-1}{2}+\dfrac{4}{2}}

\pink{:\implies\bf\dfrac{-1+4}{2}}

\pink{:\implies\bf\dfrac{3}{2}}

So, 3/2 is the required answer for your question!
