1 i) Winter in the taiga is harsh. Temperatures drop drastically, and heavy snowfall is common. Because of this, many of the taiga's birds migrate to avoid the poor conditions of the winter months. In migration, these birds will fly south to warmer climates to find food and shelters.

ii) Normally, there is high pressure in the tropical eastern-south Pacific Ocean and low pressure in the tropical eastern Indian Ocean. But as years have gone by, there has been a reversal in the pressure conditions. ... This periodic change in pressure conditions is known as Southern Oscillations or SO.

iii)When the cold water of the Labrador current meets the warmer temperate air, off the islands of Newfoundland, it creates a thermal inversion, i.e. warmer air above colder one. As this prevents the air to rise, the moisture of the sea condenses into fog patches. ▶ Thereby there is a dense fog in Newfoundland
