Explanation:

Given

We have given an equation 2x+y = 5

and value of y is 1

To Find

We have to find the value of x

Since,y is given and an equation is given and have to find x so, we can easily find out the value of x by putting y's value into an equation and evaluate it.

➙2x+y= 5

put y into the Equation

➙2x+1=5

shift constant term to the constant side

➙2x= 5-1

➙2x= 4

Now,move 2 to constant side which is being multiplied with variable x.Now, it gets divide when shifts to constant side.

➙x= 4÷2

➙x= 2

Hence,value of x is 2

Check:

➙2x+y= 5

➙2(2)+1

➙4+1

=5

Since,LHS = RHS (verified)
