1.Trachea has cartilaginous rings.Primary bronchi are similar to the trachea until they enter the lungs where their cartilage rings are replaced by irregular cartilage plates.so they are different.

The difference between cartilage rings and cartilage plates:

Cartilage rings are found in the trachea or windpipe, whereas the cartilage plates are found at the end of developing bones.

Cartilage rings are flexible and movable while breathing, whereas cartilage plates are not flexible but they have consistent thickness.  

Cartilage rings:

• Tracheal rings, commonly referred to as tracheal cartilages, are found in the trachea, or windpipe.
• Strong yet flexible tissue is cartilage.
• The trachea is supported by the tracheal cartilages, which still permit the trachea to flex and move when breathing.

Cartilage plates:

• The epiphyseal plate, a thin cartilage plate that persists at the ends of developing bones after birth, only becomes ossified when the bone behind it has finished growing.
• On the leading edge of the plate, where new bone is being laid down, osteocytes take their position as chondrocytes continue to develop and divide.
• As a result, the bone grows behind the cartilage plate while maintaining a consistent thickness.
• No more longitudinal bone development is conceivable once this plate is gone.
