At the age of 8 her mother started noticing her deafness when she didn't respond when her name was called out when she was supposed to go to play piano. Gradually since then her deafness increased and by the time she was 10 - 11 she became profoundly deaf.By the age of 17 she had given a test in The Royal Academy of Music and passed with the highest marks in the whole Academy.
